Thousands of people attended the event which was described by those in charge as a big success.

The PSNI shared a photograph of some of their officers pictured with some of the people who took part in the parade.

“There is a great atmosphere in the city today [Saturday] at the Foyle Pride Festival takes place,” read a post on the PSNI Foyle Facebook page.

“We are out not only directing traffic for the fantastic parade but also running the PSNI Gay Police Association stall in Guildhall Square. The widespread support shows that in this city we have a community that not only welcomes all cultures and identities but also celebrates them.”
