The PSNI in Derry have called on the public to be wary of strangers calling at their homes.
The warning came after an incident in the Clooney area of the city on Monday when a man called at a door asking for spare food. Similar incidents were reported in the Prehen area.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “No offences were reported however police would remind the public to be wary about strangers calling to their homes. If you feel uncomfortable do not open the door, instead, ring a neighbour or family member. If you are concerned about your safety lock the door and ring the police.”
