The sister of IRA Volunteer Charles English helped to launch this year’s Derry Republican Graves calendar.

Along with Sinn Fein Councillor Colly Kelly, Stephanie English launched this year’s calendar at the Sinn Fein offices at Eastway Road this week.

Charles English was killed on active duty in Derry 30 years ago on August 6 1985.

“The calendar is a great way for people to remember the republican men and women who have died in Derry,” said Colr. Kelly.

The calendar is produced annually by the Derry Republican Graves association, the organisation which looks after monuments and graves of republicans in the city.

The calendar is on sale now at Peadar O’Donnell’s; Tracy’s Bar; the Dungloe; the Castle; Checkpoint Charlie, Waterloo Street; PJ’s Newsagents William Street; George’s Bar, Bishop Street; Pennywise Bargain Shop, Ráth Mór Shopping Centre and at Sinn Féin offices throughout the city.
