Revenue officers have been carrying out what they have described as “normal enforcement activity” across a number of locations in Inishowen in recent days.
Customs officers set up checkpoints in Lisfannon, Cockhill and Muff over the last few days.
A spokesperson told the Journal this involved VRT checks and Mineral Oil sampling.
They confirmed that there were no VRT seizures or Marked Mineral Oil detections recorded at the locations. However, “a number” of VRT warnings were issued to motorists.
It is understood the enforcement activity took place at the locations over Wednesday and Thursday. According to social media, enforcement also took place in Bridgend and Muff but this was not confirmed by the spokesperson.
