A historical guided paddle along the River Foyle from Prehen to Culmore Point is to take place tomorrow from 10.45am to approximately 4 pm. Organised by the Foyle Paddlers, it’s open to all ages from 6 years and no experience is necessary.
Travel back in time to explore the origins of the River Foyle, discover why the Vikings set up camp at Dunalong (Long Fort) and how it later became an Elizabethan stronghold as big as Derry. Learn why the Normans were interested in Greencastle and why Napoleon never got past Magilligan. Tickets cost £4 which includes all the equipment as well as snacks and hot drinks.
