More than 100 young people from across Derry and Donegal will take part in a road safety awareness event next week.
Organised by the Road Safety Council for Northern Ireland, Donegal County Council Road Safety Section and Foyle and District Road Safety Committee, the Safe Driving Event will be held at Bready Cricket Club on May 2.
The event aims to encourage safer driving standards and reduce accidents injuries and deaths on the roads.
Harry Rutherford, Chairman of the Road Safety Council for Northern Ireland says, “We are encouraged by these three organisations coming together especially cross-border to encourage young people in the skills of driving. The day will be enjoyable but serious in that we hope accidents, deaths and injuries cross-border will be reduced.”
The event will conclude with a simulated accident.
