The local branch of the charity Save the Children wish to thank all those who supported them during their street collection on Friday, May 1.
A sum of £768 was collected on the day to go towards the relief effort in Nepal following the recent earthquakes there.
Save the Children helps and supports children and their families internationally and at home.
As well as working in Nepal, over the last 18 months they have played a major role in the treatment and prevention of Ebola in west Africa. In Europe they are assisting migrant children from North Africa rescued from the Mediterranean.
Closer to home, Save the Children runs early intervention programmes that bring parents, children, teachers and the wider community together. A number of primary schools in the city have already participated in these programmes.
