The Reverend Jim Lamont and the members of Burt Presbyterian Church extend a warm welcome to the wider Burt community to join them at their Community Carol Service. It takes place on Sunday, December 21 at 3.00pm and will consist of Gospel readings, prayers, special items of Christmas music from the choir and, of course, the traditional carols. The offering will be in aid of the Donegal Hospice. There will also be tea, mince pies and shortbread afterwards.

The Nazareth House Salsa Night Fundraiser for Resident’s Activities is happening tonight, from 7.30 to 9.30pm, at Nazareth House, Fahan. Admission costs 5 euro. Thanks also to all who helped raise 675 euro from the Nazareth House Coffee Morning.

The Burt, Inch and Fahan Calendar is now on sale at all the usual local outlets and the Sacristies. Proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go to the St Aengus’ Church Restoration Fund and the Donegal and Foyle Hospices. Burt Bingo takes place every Tuesday evening at 9pm in St Mary’s Hall. A book and sheet cost 9 euro.

Here’s a date for the diary: St. Aengus NS will 40 years old in 2015 and a series of events are planned. There will be a concert by past and present pupils in the Halfway House on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 8.00pm and a Mass in St Aengus’ Church on Friday, March 20, 2015. There will also be a Gala Dinner in An Grianán Hotel, on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Tickets cost 25 euro and are available from the school on 074 9368352. It is hoped that a booklet will be produced and the school invites people to contribute and send in their memories to the school.
