SDLP East Derry MLA, John Dallat has questioned the Justice Minister’s commitment to the development of the North West.
His comments came after David Ford revealed that Limavady Courthouse is one of the local courts earmarked for closure.
“The Justice Minister’s decision to target Limavady for further cutbacks and closures is symptomatic of the attitude of many in the executive towards the North West,” said Mr Dallat.
“Serious questions are now raised over his commitment to the development of the North West. Limavady citizens will now have to travel to Derry or Coleraine and local solicitors will be badly affected.
“It has also created apprehension around the future of Magilligan Jail if Mr Ford is determined to unload the burden of austerity upon the North West”
