A sponsored ‘hands across the bridge’ event will be held tomorrow morning on the Peace Bridge.
The family event has been planned to raise money for and awareness of the charity SHINE, which helps people suffering with either Spina Bifida or Hydrocephalus. The event has already raised £1, 300 toward the SHINE target of £10k.
As the event is being held during the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival, it is only fitting that the event will be soundtracked live by Jaydee Jazz Band. Pupils from five local schools, St. Joseph’s, St. Cecilia’s, Oakgrove Integrated, Foyle and Londonderry College and Eglinton PS, will also be participating. Those attending are asked to gather at Ebrington from 11am and organisers will bring supporters onto the bridge from 11.30am. Everyone welcome.
A SHINE family fun day has been organised for St. Columb’s Park immediately after the Hands Across The Bridge.
