The Inishowen Junior Choir is seeking singers from 7-12 yrs old. The choir run by the VEC meets every Wednesday at 7pm in the CCS 5th unit. Contact the VEC music office on 0749176293 for more information.
A positive and practical programme for parents who are preparing for, going through or have gone through separation or divorce will begin on Tuesday 19th February, 10am to 12.30 at the Links Business Centre Buncrana (opposite North West Golf Club). This year’s All Ireland Scór na N-Óg final will take place in The Venue, St. Columb’s Road, (off Limavady Road), Derry on Saturday, 23rd February, commencing at 2p.m. sharp. Donegal is honoured to be represented by the Gaoth Dobhair Instrumental group. .

Malin GAA: Malin senior footballers open their Quinns Corner Ulster Intermediate League campaign tomorrow when the host St Mary’s, Rasharkin. Throw in is at 2 o clock in Connolly Park and we would welcome as much support as possible.
Everyone involved with Malin GAA would like to extend its deepest sympathy to Gerry Smyth on the recent passing of his mother. May she rest in peace. Congratulations to both our Scor Na nÓg instrumental group and team of Irish dancers who have qualified for the live finals of “Encore” the new TG4 show which will showcase the best of traditional Irish talent in the country, Our instrumental group will consist of Aoife Mc Colgan, Megan Mc Colgan, Ruari Mc Carron, Niall Kelly and Breda Doherty and will make their way to Dublin on February the 7th, while Tanya Mc Laughlin, Nicole McColgan, Mairead Mc Laughlin, Emma Mc Daid, Seanan Mc Laughlin, Sinead Mc Gonagle, Shauna Murray Gallagher and Caoimhe Ruddy will represent us in Irish dancing on February 6th. A limited number of tickets will available for each show, and anyone over the age of 16 interested in attending are asked to contact Grace Mc Carron on 086 8047199. Their performances will be shown on TG4 at a later date.
The semi final of the Scór Sinsir competition will be held on Saturday 16th of February. Anyone interested in representing the club in ceili dancing, ballad group, instrumental or novelty act and are 17 or over please contact Grace Mc Carron on 0868047199 as soon as possible.
Malin GAA are holding a Pub Sports Night in Crossroads Inn tomight with a pool and darts competition both getting underway at 8.30 sharp. Entry fee is 5 euro for each competition and the winner of each event will win a prize of 50 euro (as well as the bragging rights). A raffle with various spot prizes will be held on the night with 2 x Meals for 2 in the Malin Hotel and various bottles of spirits up for grabs. Anyone interested in taking part in either event is asked to assemble in The Crossroads Inn at no later than 8.30 as the draw for each competion will be made and no late comers can be entered into the competitions.
Ladies training continues both Tuesday and Thursdays evenings at 7:30pm in the Clubhouse, bring trainers. Newcomers welcome also.
Underage girls training continues on Wednesday’s for U12 from 4:15 to 5:15pm and U14/16 from 5:15 to 6:15pm. Newcomers welcome to attend.
Underage girls U10s will start back after the mid term on Saturday the 23rd of February
Training continues for the Under 6 age group in the club gym on Sunday mornings from 10 to 11-15. The sessions are based on GAA Fundamentals; a Croke Park initiative based on research aimed at bettering your child’s coordination (including hand eye) balance, agility and basic fitness in a fun filled environment. It is also an introduction into the basic skills of Gaelic games. All children are welcome to attend.
Training for the Under 8 age group takes place in the club gym from 11 to 12-30 on Sunday mornings also in the club.
This is followed by training for the Under 10 age group, which runs from 12.30 to 1.30. The underage 16 football squad are currently training in the club gym on Tuesday at 5.00 and in the Malin stables on Saturday evening at 7.00.
Underage hurling for girls and boys will resume on Friday 11th January at 5-6pm for under 6’s and under 8’s and 6-7pm for under 10’s and 12’s. Each session costs 2 euro and all equipment is provided. We would love to have new coaches to help out; no experience required just energy and enthusiasm, as we will provide training. If you need further information contact Grace on 0868047199.
