Sinn Fein Councillor condemns ‘thuggery’

Newly elected Strabane Sinn Fein Councillor Karina Breslin has branded the acid attack on a local resident’s car as “thuggery.” Councillor Breslin said the latest targeting of a member of the Gilloway family was “disturbing” and called for the vandalism attacks to stop.

“Paddy Gilloway is a hard working and popular man about the town while the people who carried out this attack probably wouldn’t know the expense of keeping a car on the road. They have nothing to offer. Where does this end? If somebody had a problem why not come out of the darkness and discuss it otherwise you would not be able to park your car up at night without fear of attack? This would not have the blessing of anybody that I can think of living locally.”
