Sinn Fein MLA resigns

The development comes only hours after it was alleged he “coached” loyalist protestor, Jamie Bryson, before he gave evidence to the Nama inquiry.

Mr. McKay’s resignation was announced by Sinn Fein MLA Caral Ni Chuilin.

“Daithi McKay has resigned as MLA for North Antrim with immediate effect and has been suspended from Sinn Fein.

“His letter of resignation has been submitted to the Speaker’s office,” said the party whip
