Snow returns to the Roe

Snow made an unwelcome return to the Roe Valley overnight with warnings of more wintry weather forecast for the weekend.

Fields were blanketed in several inches of snow as motorists were urged to drive with caution.

Translink said there was disruption to some of its services in Co. Derry and said there were reports of “treacherous road conditions” around Claudy and Dungiven and school bus services in these areas would be affected.

Met Eireann and the Met Office have issued fresh warnings for ice and more snow and sleet on Friday and over the weekend.

The severe weather over the last few days created dangerous conditions throughout the Limavady borough, especially for motorists and pedestrians.
