A yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued for Derry.
The city woke up this morning to a blanket of snow, with frequent sleet, snow and hail showers expected. Accumulations 1-3 cm are possible over low ground.
Winds will be generally strong, with gusts of 60 mph or more likely at times, especially on coasts and hills.
Members of the public have been advised of the risk of disruption to travel and for hazardous driving conditions at times.
The Roads Service says gritting has been carried out.
