A local Councillor has said she is delighted after successfully getting a mobility scooter installed in Tescos Lisnagelvin for shoppers who need it.
Tescos have provided the scooter just days after Sainsburys also agreed to deliver a scooter upon request from SDLP Councillor Shauna Cusack,
Colr. Cusack said: “I am so pleased that both company’s have been so proactive in their response and commitment to making what can be an arduous and often difficult necessity a lot easier for those with mobility issues.
“I would like to congratulate both stores and thank them for not only listening to my concerns but actually making this happen.
“All businesses should be mindful of the varying needs of their customers and strive to make provision for these needs’
Patricia Kelly-Morrison, Services Manager at Tesco Lisnagelvin had responded to Colr. Cusack:
“In response to the letter that we received requesting mobility scooter provision in our Lisnagelvin Store, I am delighted to inform you that I have liaised with the trolley department at our head office and have acquired a brand new mobility scooter for our elderly, less mobile customers to avail of. I would like to thank you for bringing this issue to our attention, as here at Tesco Lisnagelvin we are committed to putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.”
Offering to give a demonstration of how the scooter works to local people, she added: “I hope that your constituents will find this beneficial whilst shopping in our Lisnagelvin Store.”
