Police say the suspicious object that sparked a security alert in Derry was a hoax.
Army Technical Officers were called to the house in Kinnego Park in the Foyle Springs area of the city where the suspicious object was discovered at around 0745 this morning (Monday).
It is understood the object was found on a car windscreen.
Around 20 homes close to where the object was discovered were evacuated .
Local District Policing Partnership member and Sinn Fein councillor Maeve McLaughlin condemned those behind today’s security alert.
“It is obvious that the people behind leaving such devices are out of touch with the will of the vast majority of the people of Derry who want to move forward without this type of disruption,” she says.
