Teenager assaulted during aggravated burglary at Derry house

A 15-year-old boy has been assaulted during an aggravated burglary at a house in Derry's Kilfennan area. Detectives in Derry have now launched an appeal for witnesses following the shocking episode in the Grangewood Court area on Tuesday night.

During the incident, which occurred between 10.10pm and 11.40pm, the teenager was assaulted and a sum of money stolen from the house.

Detective Constable Tony Douglas said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Grangewood Court area last night, or who may have information about the incident, to contact detectives at Strand Road on 101.

“Alternatively, information can be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
