Sandinos Bar, Pepe’s Bar and the Nerve Centre have all made the dazzling shortlist for this year’s fifth annual Fate Awards, which is to be hosted by Patrick Kielty.
The biggest event in the entertainment and hospitality industry’s calendar will recognise the ‘crème de la crème’ at Belfast’s Europa Hotel on Friday, April 15.
More than 53,000 votes were cast to produce this year’s shortlist, and the three Derry bars and venues are among some of the finest entertainment venues in the North to be recognised.
Sandinos has been nominated as Best Regional Bar, while Pepe’s is in the Best Gay Venue Category and the Nerve Centre has been shortlisted as among the best for the Jim Aiken Live Venue award.
Announcing the shortlist, Michael Deane, head of the judging panel, said: “The fifth annual Fate Awards will showcase the very best of the Northern Ireland entertainment and hospitality industry who traded through 2010 in the most extreme conditions imaginable for any business. This shortlist is very encouraging and I look forward to joining the panel of judges whittling down the public nominations to determine the leaders in our industry for 2011.”
Michael Mervyn-Jones, publisher of Fate Magazine, said; “This year’s awards are sure to be the biggest and best to date. We have received the largest number of votes ever and it’s the strongest newcomer category with ten venues across Northern Ireland shortlisted.”
The focus for this year’s awards is firmly on the outstanding success and achievements of our homegrown talent and a star studded line up will be in attendance.
The Fate Awards in association with Diet Coke, take place on April 15.
