Toddler injured in Derry incident


A three year-old-boy from Derry has been transferred to Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital following an incident involving a car at Ballymagroarty.

At about 3.45pm yesterday (Tuesday), police say they received report of the incident at Farland Way.

An ambulance attended and the boy, aged three years and five months, was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital with injuries consistent with having been run over.

He was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital. At this stage his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident. Witnesses can contact 101, the non-emergency number, quoting reference number 742 29/04/14.
