Measures are to be put in place to deal with visibility issues at busi junctions at both Pennyburn Pass and Ardnashee, local Sinn Fein Councillor Mickey Cooper has said.
Colr. Cooper said that 15m yellow corner restriction markings are to be put down at the road junctions.
The move follows meetings with Transport NI to raise concerns over obstruction to the view of motorists and pedestrians.
Colr. Cooper said: “I met with Transport NI to raise concerns over obstructions to the view of motorists exiting these junctions, and pedestrians just trying to the cross the road. This is a very busy road with hundreds of cars travelling through here each day.
“They are proposing that a 15m yellow corner restriction markings are put down as per the junctions at Pennyburn Pass and Ardnashee.
“The corner markings will keep people from parking close to the junction and this will improve people’s sightline when exiting this roads.”
It is hoped that the works can be carried out over the next four to six weeks, Colr. Cooper said.
