Derry’s Mayor will today lead a delegation to Stormont to discuss the upgrade of the city’s railway service.
Martin Reilly will be joined by party leaders, representatives from the Into the West railway lobby group and the Foyle Civic Trust.
They are due to meet the North’s regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy.
“This is a useful opportunity for city representatives to discuss with the Minister the importance of our rail network and our keenness to ascertain the outcome of consultation on the future of the Waterside Station. I welcome the partnership approach to this important issue and the fact that all of us are working proactively to lobby for better rail services for our city and region,” the Mayor said.
