‘Upgrade crossing’ demand made

Pedestrian crossings on the Glengalliagh Road need to be upgraded, a Derry City councillor has urged.

Sinn Fein’s Elisha McCallion said the road sees a massive amount of daily traffic but “the current crossings are not fit for purpose.”

“People are fearful of the volume and speed of traffic on the stretch between Moss Park and Slievemore,” she said.

She said the onus was now on DRD Roads Service to “propose a solid pedestrian programme for the area.”
