Katherine told the Derry Journal: “I attended an Open Day when I was applying for the Access course - which I would highly recommend as I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.

“At the Open Day I met lecturers who were amazing. When I was applying for the Foundation Degree in Travel and Tourism, I attended an information session with Luane Quigley and needless to say, this particular course changed everything for me, going on to receive a nomination for Travel Student of the year and to win has been fantastic.

“My next step is to graduate in Tourism Management and hopefully gain employment in the Travel and Tourism industry.”

NWRC offers Access Courses (full time and part time) in Combined Studies, Health and Welfare and Science, which provide adults the opportunity to achieve an equivalence of three A-Levels allowing progression to University courses.

A spokesperson for North West Regional College said: ‘’North West Regional College will hold Open Days at our main campuses in Strabane, Derry, and Limavady on February, 26, 27 and 28 respectively.
