The committee of Tremone Youth & Recreation group invite all members of the community to attend their AGM which will be held in Carrowmena Community Centre on Monday, 20th of August at 8.30pm. Any persons expressing an interest in joining the committee, please put their name forward in writing to the Company Secretary before Friday, August 17th. We would appeal to all members of the community and the football teams to attend and give their opinion on the running of the Club, and invite you to put forward Agenda items for this meeting.

St Vincent De Paul is opening a charity shop in the old co-up Moville as a means of supporting our local conferences. All donations of good quality clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac, books as well as clothes for recycling will be gratefully received. Good as New

There is a good as new shop open at the business park Carndonagh. All proceeds from this good as new shop go towards Donagh and Culdaff parish churches. Good items of clothing and bric-a-brac welcome. Volunteers required

Glengad Community Resource Centre is organising a workshop to discuss the Heritage Revival Project next Wednesday, 8th August at 8.00pm in the Glengad Community Resource Centre with refreshments being served. We hope to follow this up with woodwork classes on 13th, 20th, 27th and 3rd of September.

The annual Saddle Rock Swim at Malin Head to Portmore Pier at Malin Head will be held this Sunday in aid of the Oncology Unit. There will be a bouncy castle on the beach for kids from 1pm and the swim will commence at 3.30pm. The annual Brian Glackin Memorial Cup will be played at the pitch at Gortnamullan, Malin Head, on Saturday 11th August, commencing at 5pm. Presentation and BBQ will follow in Doherty’s Bar, Umgal at 9.30pm.

A Grand Musical ‘Battle of the Pubs’ Competition will be held in the local pubs in Malin Head during August with the final to be held in September. First Prize is 500 euro and there are prizes for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places.

The Annual Sports Day in Malin Head will be held on Wednesday, 15th August. Join in the races and football or try out some of the sideshows!  Great social occasion and a chance to meet up with friends and family.

This year it is planned to resurrect the traditional Sports Day Dance which will be held in Malin Head Community Hall on Wednesday, 15th August, with music by Capricorn. Dancing is from 10pm to 2am, with tea served at 12midnight.  Come along and dance the night away!

There was no winner of the €1,500 jackpot in the Carrowmenagh FC Lotto which took place on Sunday 22nd July in Rawdons bar. Numbers drawn were: 1, 9, 15,16 Winners of 20 euro were: Ryan Coyle, Rosebank Court, Glen residents group and Philip Cruck c/o Corner bar, The next draw will take place on Sunday in Rawdons bar at 10pm.
