Trench Road PO to be modernised

The Post Office is to give its Trench Road outlet a new look with longer opening hours for customers.

As part of plans to modernise the network and extend opening, Trench Road Post Office will have two serving positions, both of which will be screened serving positions.

Post Office customers will benefit from service hours being extended by five hours a week. The branch itself will now open from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m to 5.30 p.m. on Saturday.

Trench Road Post Office will be closed for refurbishment from 5.30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8. The newly modernised branch will re-open at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 15.

Alternative branches will be able to look after the needs of customers during the closure, including: Spencer Road Post Office, 24-28 Spencer Road, and The Diamond Post Office, 3 Bishop Street, Derry.

Post Office Area Manager Damian Mulholland said: “We understand how important the Post Office is to residents around Londonderry and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
