Trump dumps Derry star on Twitter

Derry actress Roma Downey and U.S. President-elect, Donald Trump.

Up until recently, the 56 year-old actress was one of only 41 people followed by Mr. Trump on the social media website.

It’s unclear why Mr. Trump dumped the Derry born star but one can only assume that it had something to do with a statement released by her husband Mark Burnett during the recent presidential campaign.

Mr. Burnett said neither he nor his wife were and never had been Donald Trump supporters.

Ms. Downey met Donald Trump when she worked alongside her husband, as a producer on U.S. reality television show, ‘The Apprentice’, which starred Mr. Trump.

Mr. Trump continues to follow Ms. Downey’s husband on Twitter.

When made aware that the U.S. President-elect had unfollowed her, Ms. Downey tweeted “guess I got ‘fired!!’”
