TV focus on 1971 Strabane death

The story of a deaf Strabane man shot dead by British soldiers more than 40 years ago is to be recalled in a special one off RTE programme. Eamonn McDevitt was just 28-years-old when he was shot dead during a riot in the Head of the Town on August 19, 1971.

RTE One’s programme for the deaf, ‘Hands On’, will look at the story of Eamonn McDevitt and how his death impacted on those around him. The episode will air tomorrow (Saturday) on RTE One at 12.30 pm.
