Gardai at Bruff and Cappamore are investigating the crash

Speaking to the ‘Journal’, Superintendent Eugene McGovern said an attempted burglary occurred at the McBride bookmaker premises at Bunnamayne, Bridgend at approximately 2.20am.

A similar burglary attempt was made on the premises on March 7, and Supt McGovern said he was satisfied that “the same people were involved both times.”

A second incident occurred at Redcastle Post Office at approximately 3.10am on Monday morning.

He said the group also attempted to enter Redcastle Post Office at 3.10am on Monday morning, and returned at 3.30am when they gained entry. #

However, nothing was taken. Supt McGovern said he was satisfied it was “the same gang involved.”

He added that if anyone was in the vicinity of the bookmakers in Bridgend, or at Redcastle Post Office and noticed a suspicious vehicle or a number of males to contact Gardai in Buncrana on 0749320540.
