Two men to appear in court on charges in connection with Creggan disturbances in Derry

Two men are to appear before a court in Derry today (Friday) charged in connection with disturbances during a police search operation in Creggan.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with assault on police and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with assault on police, disorderly behaviour and obstructing police.

Both men are due to appear at Derry Magistrates Court today, Friday March 19.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
