Victim Support call for Derry volunteers

Victim Support NI is hosting a string of information evenings across the region in a bid to recruit volunteers to support victims and witnesses of crime in their local communities and courts.

The charity will be aiming to recruit people to volunteer in their Foyle community and court services through a volunteer information evening in City Hotel tonight, Wednesday 29 January 2014 from 7-9pm.

Victim Support NI Foyle Office Co-ordinator Oonagh Doherty said: “Without volunteers, we simply wouldn’t be able to help the many people who need support having been victims or witnesses of crime in the Foyle area.

“At Victim Support NI we provide free and confidential information, emotional support and practical help whether or not the crime has been reported to the police.

“If you are good with people and have a few hours to spare, we’d love to have you on board. If you’d like to find out more about what we do and are interested in volunteering come along to our information evening in the City Hotel on Wednesday from 7-9pm.”
