The annual Maiden City Festival firework display took place inside Derry’s historic Walls on Tuesday evening.
Pro-Palestine supporters had gathered at the section of the Walls above Fahan Street to take part in a pro-humaniterian rally.
The firework display commenced just as the rally was coming to an end.
Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, who was at the rally said via social network site, Twitter: “As our candlelit vigil for Gaza ended tonight in Derry, coincidentally and innocently, fireworks from Apprentice Boys.”
As the rally dispersed many stood and watched the fireworks from Fahan Street and other parts of the Bogside.
