Derry City F.C. legend, Mark Farren, and wife, Terri Louise, have thanked all those who have contributed to a fundraising campaign to help Mark get the treatment he needs to battle a Grade Four brain tumour.
Mark, 33, underwent a third operation on his brain at the beginning of April and as a result his speech and mobility have been affected.
“I am very, very emotional and happy at the same time,” said Mark.
“I can’t believe it - it’s given me the motivation to keep on fighting.”
On Friday, the Farren family revealed that a recent operation to remove a brain tumour in Mark’s head had not been totally
successful.
Potentially life-saving treatment is available at clinics in Germany and Mexico but it will come at a significant cost.
