A project by Dungiven-based charity, Hands That Talk, is competing for Best Voluntary/Charity Project in the National Lottery Awards and is down to the final three projects.

Hands That Talk are the only project in Northern Ireland competing in this category and needs the public to vote to help them win.

If schools could arrange for a few volunteers to sit by a computer in a designated place and register votes from the students this would be fantastic! Students could cast their votes at break time, lunch time or in their free lessons. Maybe they could cast their votes in the library or in IT class. The link to vote is:

It only takes 2 clicks!

We don’t mind how and when they do it as long as they do! We are against 2 other worthy projects in Scotland and England but we want to bring this award home to the North West. Voting closes at 12 noon on Monday 26th September 2011.

Please help our worthy cause and VOTE!!

A huge thank you comes from our staff, board of directors, volunteers

Hands That Talk improves the quality of life for deaf people by providing access to employment, education and services. It has also enabled the Deaf Community to experience a much more deaf aware society where communication barriers have been broken down and opportunities exist for personal growth and confidence building.
