Get up and sign up for REACH running club’s charity fun run/walk which takes place next Friday, October 30.

REACH runners have become a regular fixture as they run from Sainbury’s and along the quay three times a week. This year the club has decided to donate the proceeds of the charity run to

Foyle Search and Rescue and want to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause.

While it’s still possible to register on the night at The Coffee House on Queen’s Quay REACH wants you to get involved now by emailing rrczombierun@gmail.com. The cost to take part is just £7.

All you need to do is to give you name, age, gender and T-shirt size as the first 200 entrants will be given a free hi-tech tshirt.

REACH running club is known for its welcome to runners of all ages, shapes and sizes and everyone is welcome to run with the club regardless of ability.

It’s with this same spirit that the club is inviting members of the public to join in the family fun run and of course you are more than welcome to walk the 5K is that suits you better.

The added twist to the evening before Hallowe’en is that participants are invited to put on their spookiest gear as they join in the fun.

All proceeds will go to a very worthy chairty indeed - Foyle Search and Rescue; an organisation which the people of Derry has taken to its hearts because of the great work it does.

Foyle Search and Rescue is a voluntary based charity which can cover search and rescue operations UK and Ireland wide when required.

Foyle Search and Rescue was set up by local people in 1993 in response to the alarmingly high number of drownings in the river (30 within 18 months) and has adopted the role of preventing suicide in the city.
