'˜Wanton vandalism' at Limavady playpark
The metal box below the swings is the main container from a nearby litter bin at Wisener’s Lane, off Roe Mill Road, which was removed and appears to have then been set on fire.
SDLP MLA, Gerry Mullan, said it was “wanton vandalism.”
“All this does is deprive young childrenof resources they enjoy,” said the assemblyman.

Do people think this is some sort of entertainment, or that it’s funny. All it does is deprive young children of something they enjoy.”
It is thought the damage to the equipment, discovered on Thursday, will costs hundreds of pounds to repair or replace.
The play area at Roe Mill Road has been vandalised before and, in the legacy Limavady Borough Council, there had been discussion about removing the facility to make better use of the space.
