Inishowen Sinn Féin Councillor Albert Doherty has welcomed the decision taken at Wednesday’s Inishowen Municipal District meeting to include footpath repair and provision at New Road, Carndonagh on the 2015 works programme.
The Carndonagh-based councillor said: “The state of the footpath presently and for quite a long while in the past is in a dangerous condition and requires caution and care when used by adult and child alike.
“I have received representations from various community groups seeking council attention to address the unsatisfactory state of the footpath. “
Colr Doherty also commended the work of local community groups in improving facilities.
“I am delighted at the positive response from road engineers and particularly the commitment from council to complete the works in this year’s programme and I commend the work and activities of all the voluntary and community groups who work with the council to improve facilities and address local issues in the Carndonagh area,” Colr. Doherty concluded.
