Wheelie bins set on fire in Limavady

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of criminal damage that was caused to a residential premises in the Glen Side Brae, Deer Park area of Limavady.

Constable Raymond Purdy said: “It was reported that at approximately 3.20am on Friday 16 December, wheelie bins were deliberately ignited at the rear of a residential premises. There was no one in the premises at the time and therefore no injuries.

“We are appealing to anyone that may have any information or to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to contact Limavady Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 117 on 16/12/16.”

Detectives in Limavady are also appealing for information following a burglary at a residential premises in the Broad Road area.

Detective Sergeant Stewart said: “It was reported that sometime between Tuesday 13 December and Friday 16 December a house was broken into and an electric saw was stolen. It is also thought that a quantity of heating oil was taken.

“I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 742 of 16/12/2016.”
