Seventy homes in the Creggan area will have their windows replaced, a local councillor has announced.
Sinn Féin councillor Kevin Campbell said the scheme will cost more than £200,000 in total.
The scheme will include houses in Beechwood Crescent, Dunaff Gardens, Central Drive, Dawros Gardens, and Dunree Gardens.
“My party colleague Raymond McCartney MLA has received confirmation from the DSD Minister that a number of replacement schemes are planned for Creggan.
A second scheme for Creggan is also being considered, subject to additional funding becoming available during the year. The properties involved will be located in Westway, Iniscarn Crescent , Bligh’s Lane, Bligh’s Gardens,
There are many other homes in the city that also need window replacements and additional repair work carried out. I would call on the Minister to address this issue as a matter of urgency,” he said.
