Woman's body recovered in Donegal pier tragedy
The body of a woman has been recovered after a car went off a pier close to the popular holiday village of Kerrykeel, County Donegal.
Mulroy Coast Guard, the Sligo 118 helicopter and expert divers were involved in the recovery mission after the alarm was raised.
Eyewitnesses raised the alarm at 1.30pm on Saturday.
The body of a woman, believed to be in her 30s, was taken ashore and removed from the scene to the mortuary at Letterkenny Hospital.
A post-moterm is expected to take place in due course, and the Coroner has been notified.
Gardai and ambulance personnel were also at the scene today, and a vehicle was recovered from the waters.
It is understood gardai inquiries are continuing.
