I have searched far and wide for a Sacred Heart Oil Lamp for an elderly person who lives without mains electricity and has all through her long life burned an oil lamp in front of a picture of the Sacred Heart. Unfortunately the lamp now needs to be replaced.
These small round lamps were very common in Ireland until mains electricity came along and gradually they disappeared. They were known as Kelly Lamps and while they can still be obtained on e-Bay it appears impossible to get one with a red globe which is essential in this case.
If any of your readers has one which they would part with or knows where I can get one I would be very grateful. I can assure them that it would make a very wonderful person who lives a simple life very happy.
A phone call to my office at Kilrea (028) 2954 1880 would be very welcome.
