US trip in hard times

It made me so happy to see the picture in the Sunday Journal of Martin Bradley of the Cultural Company and SDLP Councillor Martin Reilly meeting the Derry barman who served Barack Obama a pint of Guinness on St. Patrick’s Day. What better way to relax than with a pint of the black stuff when you have worries such as overseeing the economic chaos caused largely by American bankers and speculators, and wondering where next to direct the American murder machine after Iraq and Afghanistan? Perhaps I am just green with envy, but some questions did cross my mind when I saw the photo. For instance, how many others went on this trip? Who were they representing? Who paid for the trip in these hard times? What was the bill? How many similar trips were organised to commemorate a saint noted for his austerity? What does m-u-g-s spell?
