Vandals render dog waste bins ‘a waste’

I would like to avail, if I may, of the the Derry Journal letters page in order to urge whatever local authority it was that recently installed the red dog waste bins along the riverside path to Prehen, to remove them urgently as vandals are now breaking them open and emptying the contents onto the path.

It is better to let dogs do their business unassisted as there are obviously much filthier animals out there.

Furthermore, after observing the amount of plastic bags that ‘responsible’ dog owners are utilising in cleaning up after Fido, I would add that these bins do not constitute a sound method of dog waste disposal in the first place, that they are sadly, just a waste.
