Staged over a new course and in decent conditions marred only by an annoying head wind, the speedy Spartan announced his return to race action with a strong run to see off the persistent challenge of Letterkenny AC training partner Danny Mooney. Bradley took the tape in 15m 12s ahead of Mooney’s 15m 21s, as another Spartan, Gary Slevin, held off Springwell athlete Jonathan McKee for the final podium spot. His 15m 33s clocking gave him the edge by just three seconds at the finish line and follows a decent run three days earlier at the National 10K in Dublin.

This quartet were well clear of the chasers, led home by the doughty McGlynn who was followed home by the leading male U20, Foyle Valley’s Roy McGilloway in 16m 20s. Master runner Colin Roberts of the promoting club completed the top six, his 16m 21s netting him the M45 prize ahead of clubmate Paul McCafferty, 9th in 16m 32s.
