As the title suggests, the book chronicles events at the Bleachgreen from the club’s inception to its current-day place in the top flight of North West cricket.

Ardmore’s first recorded match under the NWCU auspices was away to Strabane in 1860 and the new publication includes the scorecard from that game as well as a host of photographs and reports from the many matches between then and now.

Speaking earlier this week, club stalwart George Chambers said that everyone was looking forward to the launch and members would be keen to secure their own copy.

“The book launch was always going to happen at the Bleachgreen but the club felt it would be appropriate that we chose the home game with Strabane to mark the occasion, given our early links with them,” said Mr. Chambers.

“We’re very happy that Billy will be here to launch the book in person and we’re hoping that he will be joined by some guests who have played an integral part in the club’s history. The book itself will be a keepsake for club members, old and new, and will also be a great source of reference for the North West cricket public generally.”

The Coleraine-based author has already penned a number of cricket-based publications and just as in all of those cases, any profits from this one will go directly to the SANDS charity.

The launch is expected to take place at around 3.30pm on Saturday, during the tea interval in the match.
