Séan Dolan’s 1-6
MAGILLIGAN continued their winning run in spite of a below-par performance, the frees of ‘keeper Mickey Doherty edging them past a rugged Dolan’s side who caused plenty of problems for a St. Aidan’s team which now sits level with Doire Trasna at the top of the Division Three table on 10 points.
The visitors were understrength, missing four key players around the middle, while Magilligan were able to boast an unchanged line-up from their win over Drum the previous weekend.
In what was a tight encounter, Magilligan led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the break and managed to maintain their lead the whole way through in spite of a goal from Caolan McCosker in the second half. Dolan’s, without Alan Grant, Ciaran Wilkinson, Paul Melaugh and Gary Cassidy, made a brave fight of it but they just weren’t able to finish the job.
