Harps almost opened the scoring when centre forward, Meenan came close with a fine header.

And they threatened again when James Melly hit the crossbar.

Harps finally took a deserved lead on 65 minutes when Dan Toland scored an overhead kick.

Within 10 minutes of that strike, Oxford equalised when Darren Crossan fired home from 20 yards Harps had the most of the play but couldn’t get the breakthrough and the tie went into extra-time.

And with four minutes left McFadden was brought down inside the area and referee, Noel Moore pointed to the spot. James Melly netted from the spot to seal the win.
