An intriguing looking top of the Championship table clash between Foyle Harps and City Colts at Leafair looks the game of the day in this weekend’s Bentley Bar North West Saturday Morning League.
In total, there are nine games scheduled with three in the Premier Division and six in the Championship.
In the top flight, Hatmore Harps take on Bentley at Prehen while Rosemount face Tamnaherin Celtic at Lisnagelvi nand Brandywell Celtic face Clifton Villa in The Showgrounds.
In the Championship, Phoenix Athletic Colts take on Dungiven in St. Columb’s Park while Strabane Athletic welcome Clooney to Strabane and Culmore meet Artigarvan at Lisnagelvin. As well at the meeting of the top two, Tristar play Sion Swifts at Prehen and, finally, Newton Heath face Foyle FC at The Complex.
All clubs are reminded that reports not containing all goalscorer information or false information will be treated as no report and the offending club will be fined.
The PRO will be discussing this matter with The Committee and hopes to get permission to increase the fine as a deterrent to clubs who increasingly fail to meet the criteria. It is only a handful of clubs that this should be a problem for but the PRO stressed it needs to stop as it is affecting the League’s standing with the media after a number of cases in which players were reported to have scored in games they were not playing in.
The PRO will be suggesting a £25 fine that will increase by £5 for every offence thereafter.
