EXPERIENCED midfielder, Conor McCormack has agreed to sign a one year deal which keeps him at Brandywell Stadium until the end of the 2016 season.
The 25 year-old former St Patrick’s Athletic man who signed for the ‘Candy Stripes’ last July, was key to Derry’s survival last year during his nine appearances. He met with Derry City boss, Kenny Shiels this afternoon and quickly agreed to come on board for another year with the option of a second season.
And the Derry boss is delighted McCormack decided to commit his immediate future with the Lone Moor Road club.
“Conor has agreed terms for next season and I’m really happy,” said the Derry boss. “He will be a good player for us and we’re delighted to have him.
“He’s a player we think can fit into our system of play. He’s neat and tidy with the ball so I think he would be a good asset for us.”
And Shiels has also been speaking with defender, Dean Jarvis about committing for next season and is hoping to tie up a few other deals within the next week.

“I’ve also been speaking with Dean Jarvis today and I’m going through the players in no particular order. I’ll be speaking to Gerard Doherty next week and I’m trying to get the spine of the squad signed up. So wer’e looking to move things on as quickly as possible.”
Timlin signs for St Pat’s
Meanwhile one player who won’t be in Shiels’ squad next season is last season’s top scorer, Mark Timlin who has completed his move to Richmond Park. The Buncrana man spent two season with the Candy Stripes and ended last season with 12 goals in all competitions.
