Shane Duffy has extended his loan deal with Championship side, Yeovil Town by a further month and Glovers’ boss, Gary Johnson is refusing to rule out keeping the defender until the end of the season.
The Galliagh man, who joined Yeovil in September on loan from English Premiership side Everton, has settled in quickly to Huish Park and has been an ever present at the heart defence following his debut at Bolton Wanderers last month.
And with Duffy’s initial month expiring yesterday, Johnson was quick to act and secure his signature for another four weeks.
The Yeovil boss, admitted that he hopes to keep the talented 21 year-old Derry man until at least after Christmas if not the end of the current campaign.
“I think every month we get him, he will get better,” said Johnson. “It’s like all of these players that we get from these clubs, they haven’t played enough competitive games and it takes them a little while.
“We’re checking the terms and hoping that we can keep him up to Boxing Day.
“So, without jumping the gun, there’s a possibility of doing it until the end of the season if all parties are happy in January (when the window re-opens).”
